backyard magic

we had a little party at our house on sunday. we have no porch since we closed it in to create our playroom...and we have no trees...and we have a very small backyard...but i discovered this weekend that you can still have a magical outdoor party with a little creativity!

if you are going to have an outdoor party, you have to have lights! i've been eyeing these little globe lights at target for at least two years now! this was the perfect occasion to buy them...i have a feeling we will get good use out of them!

i always like to add a quilt or blanket for babies and little ones to play on! i used an old bedsheet for one of the tablecloths:o)...in an ideal world all of the chairs would be wooden and mismatched colors...but our neighbor let us borrow all of their outdoor chairs which was nice!

i love having people over; kids running through the house, babies cooing, laughter, eating, fun...we don't do this often enough! and of course i didn't take enough pictures while the party was actually happening...too busy chasing my child around!

and the best part of all was our overnight houseguests...sarah and her newborn baby Lennon! he liked me; can't you tell? what four week old smiles like that!:o)

Oh that looks like a lovely party! I love how you made it work.
Your such a good hostess.. you make a little backyard space inviting and comfortable for your guests. I've been eyeing those little lights as well, I need to get me some of those! :)
