first of all, thanks for praying for my little guy! hand foot mouth is something i hope none of your kiddos ever have to go through! noah still has his rash/spots/sores, but he is feeling so much better. the doctor said he's contagious until the rash goes away...which means we have been cooped up in our house all.week.long. i'm not going to lie, i have been more than a little stir crazy...and so has noah. i'm pretty sure i'd weigh 300 pounds if we never went anywhere for an extended period of time...i baked so many things this week...and i kind of went pinterest crazy...out of control.

ANYWAYS, remember this post? you probably don't since it was FOREVER ago! well, I found my scale!!! okay, so it's not this exact one...but as I wandered through my favorite antique shop in Granbury last weekend, I saw this on the top shelf of one of the booths. i glanced at the price tag and saw $70 and i thought (of course)...but then I looked one more time...and saw that the 7 was actually a 1....$10!!!!! i squealed and a lady walking by looked at me funny. i told her i found the best deal ever and she gave me a half smile. I climbed up the shelf to grab it...even when I checked out at the counter the worker told me she couldn't believe it was priced so low!!!!

i have great plans for you little scale. you will sit on my counter and look pretty. my future babies will sleep on top of you for their newborn photos. you will make me smile every day...even when I'm 80.

our neighborhood garage sale is this weekend. it seems like we just had one but hey, i'm not complaining! i'm hoping to find a typewriter and a headboard...highly unlikely but a girl can dream!

What a beautiful piece! You certainly hit the antique-ing jackpot!
OH LAUREN! I am so sorry to hear that! Caleb's little brother (on his Dad's side) had Hand, foot and mouth early September. Prayers are going out for Noah right now... Hope he feels better really soon!
Oh no, hand, foot, mouth is the worse. So sorry for you both. I had my in laws here this week and all we did was eat too. I feel stuffed!;) Your scale rocks. I love those finds...they're the best.
awesome find , Lauren!! Thanks for the reminder of the garage sale I will be driving by tomorrow and sat ;)I actually saw a typewritter at a thrift store when I was in CA wish I would have known you wanted one. not sure how I would have brought it back though, for you =)
you said future babies, plural. are you going for at least 2 more?? interesting what you leak out when you're just talkin on the blog!! now we all know your true thoughts.. :)
Hi Lauren! I'm a friend of Nelson's (I actually babysat for the Staats, occasionally, growing up) and just love your blog. I met you at Ruth's sip n' see for Abi last year and chatted with Mallory over the summer about you. Anyway. Thought I'd finally be brave and leave you a comment:)
Love your antique scale and love what you did to Noah's play kitchen! We have the same one, but with a little boy in the family now, it's a little too girly for him. Thanks for the inspiration to change it up!
And, as if this isn't already the longest comment ever...hang in there with hand, foot and mouth. My youngest daughter had it. It's such a sad virus! She barely ate for three days. Hope your little guy is feeling better!
oh no, I'm sorry your little one got it.. it sounds horrible! I hope he is on the mend.. My little boy was home all of last week bc he had croup. So I completely know what you mean when you say you were going a little stir crazy!
I have one of those little scales in my kitchen too (although I think I paid a little bit more then you).. your going to love it :)
